Monday Blues

7.05am

Trudging through the school gate like a half rotten zombie

Kept yawning and yawning and YAWNING!

Had a bad night sleep

Kept rolling in bed; kicking the soft toys away;

but mind just refused to shut down.

Back in school, was the sleepy cat scrawled over my desk

like an invertebrate at the end of the row.

Eyes kept shutting while listening to the monotonous drones of teachers.

Sweats trickled down my back,

making a wide damp spot on my fading blue prefect shirt,

making it obviously clear that i did not wear a singlet

(all prefects got to wear singlets at ALL times but

normally i would just ignore the existance of that unnecessary rule).

10.45 am

Time for recess

Trudged down the stairs to canteen

Grabbed something and pushed it into the mouth

Chew. Swallow. Chew. Swallow. Chew. Swallow. Burp.

2.00pm

Time to go back

Waited for mum impatiently

Hot. Sweaty. Sleepy. Moody

Felt like a scratchy cat

MIAO!!

2.20pm

Gobbled food

Splashed water over body

Got my mum's car key

Accelerated to school

but was late anyway

Who cares?

Just another time-wasting

Finally out from the torture chamber

Friends hopped into the car

Accelerated through the traffic congestion

Hot sauna car

6.05pm
Uh-oh

Couldnt turn the key in the ignition part

Hot. Tired. Feeling stupid

Tried again. Failed

Wtf?

Desperado woman in hot car

Michael passed by

Showed the correct way;

Shake the steering wheel

while turning the key

Wtf?

Cant get the idea behind it

but didnt matter much

Car started.. yeah!
